Thank you for visiting the website of

Open Door Baptist Church!

Open Door Baptist Church was started in September of 1969 by Baptist Mid-Missions missionaries, Bob and Dottie Cooley.  At the time, Prescott Valley was a new community of just a few hundred people.  And, it was without a church.  Seeing the need, Pastor Bob--who was serving at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Prescott--met with some of the community's leaders, and began holding services in the Community Center (an A-frame building now occupied by Olivas Mexican Restaurant).

Since then, Prescott Valley has grown into an active town of some 30,000 people.  And while many other churches have come and gone since 1969, Open Door Baptist Church continues to serve the Lord and to minister the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the residents of Prescott Valley and the surrounding towns.

Open Door Baptist Church is a fundamental and independent Baptist church, in fellowship with the General and Arizona Associations of Regular Baptist Churches (the GARBC and the AARBC).  It is our goal to continue to serve the Lord and to stand for His truth, as we have done for nearly four decades as Prescott Valley's original church.

We are located on over four acres of land in the center of the beautiful and fast-growing community of Prescott Valley.  Otherwise in a residential area, we are bounded on the north by Mountain Valley Park (a 69-acre site complete with a swimming pool, an amphitheatre for athletic and community events, a dog park, skate park, baseball fields, basketball courts, and picnic grounds).  With beautiful views of Mingus Mountain to the east, Open Door Baptist Church is situated in an ideal spot.
